Partridge-berry is a lovely little evergreen dwarf shrub that trails along the ground and produces bright red fruits. It occurs in pine-hardwood forests on well-drained, often sandy soil that is slightly acidic. It is a delicate plant that hugs the ground, so be sure to give it enough room.
